I guess I am on a bit of a country-ish kick lately. I would never tell the random person on the street I like "country music" because of what that shit sounds like these days. This just kinda sounds like folk music to me, but she is wearing a big hat, so... I don't know what makes some sounds country and some songs just songs.
Either way, this is catchy chorus, and it's a true.
That river will flow on
Even after we're all long gone
I've also been enjoying just live performances on YouTube over studio-recorded music lately. Because I use YouTube music as my streaing servce, I can listen to it on my phone as well, even if I don't watch the videos.
As far as Sierra Ferrell goes, I've only recently discovered that her music exists, but I do like quite a bit of it. The more recent stuff she's done has a more jazzy feel. She has an album recorded that isn't out yet, so I suppose we'll see what it sounds like overall whenever that comes out.
Anyway, I hope if you happened to actually read all of this that the rest of your day goes amazingly well.
This post is part of an ongoing series in which I document the songs which are in my head immediately upon waking. I've been making them for a long time now.

LOL :) Must admit, I don't tell anybody as well... That said: I don't know the country genre at all, I can not say that I'm a fan at all and I not really listen to any music from this genre... Hence makes it easy for me not to admit anything regarding country music LOL Anyways, years ago, suddenly a hype went through my tiny country the Netherlands to learn line dancing. I never understood this hype. Why would Dutch people suddenly want to learn the country style of dancing?
I do like the voice of Sierra. Maybe this is what the attraction is for you? Maybe the way she looks as well with the big piercing and all, which seems to me a little out of the ordinary for the country genre.
I think this is more of what people call alternative country. It harkens back to old-timey country styles, but it doesn't appeal to the masses that like modern country/pop stuff. It's more people from like punk backgrounds who play it a lot of times.
It's definitely her voice that draws me (and others) in. It sounds like it's coming out of a time machine in a cool way. I like the fast guitar picking in this song, too. I've seen her do this song entirely on her own and it's not the same. Her accompaniment on the guitar really fills out the sound and plays some cool stuff.
With music, I go in waves. I listen to all different kinds, but I tend to hover around a similar style for a while until I move on to something else.
Thanks for checking it out anyway!
Thats super cool! Not so many do. I would see, the more openminded people do, the rest doesnt. Though I have my favourite genres, I always try to listen to music from any other genre. Maybe not in waves you do, but more constantly. Sometimes its a bit of searching in genres I dont know, since I need to get to the gems in a particular genre to be able to appreciate the music. And I need to be in the mood for it, espacially when it concerns genres that are far from being my favourite. That said, its sooo nice to be able to be openminded enough to take on any music style.
Yay! 🤗
