When I heard that Necro the rapper was coming to the venue I work at I immediately thought of what happened when he came in 2009(or rather didn't come).
The venue for the Necro show was the now extinct Richards on Richards, more affectionately known as Dicks on Dicks.
On his way to the show Necro's tour bus broke down.
Unfortunately the promoters kept telling the crowd that he would be there soon when it finally became too close to closing and they realized he wasn't going to make it they made an announcement.
Necro would not be making it to the concert that night .
The crowd erupted into a riot throwing tables and chairs, a lot of them targeting the disco ball hanging in the middle of the dance floor they eventually threw enough tables and chairs that the disco ball fell down.. security staff ran out the back door and the whole bar was trashed.
When the riot spilled out onto the streets the Vancouver Police Department had to come in full riot gear.
So wwhenI found out He was coming to Harbour Event Centre I wondered if we were looking at Necro riot part two.
To start the night there was a few rough characters but no problems.
When Necro's got on stage the mosh pit started. People were shoving each other and one gentleman was pushing people more than the other's but everyone seemed to be having fun.
Then the big blond guy who had been shoving people really hard pushed this one guy over a table and fell himself. Then a little slip of a girl ran up and punched him pretty hard.
At this point I thought the girl had finally gotten sick of this guy pushing people and being a jerk.
What I later found out showed me that thinking you know what's going on in other people's heads is a very losing game.
So after the punch everyone just went back to moshing . The girl approached me and started talking to me.
"Did you see that punch?!?" She said
"Good punch, did you get tired of him shoving people?" I replied
"No that wasn't why I punched him, that was my boyfriend he pushed over the table but I didn't know that when I smoked him," she explained "The reason I punched him is because I'm sick of these pussy-assed moshers just pushing. When what they should be doing is punching each other. When I go through a mosh pit I'm like Pow PowPow. Punching everyone and they don't know a thing."
"Cool" I Replied while trying not to laugh.
Other than that one incident everything was peaceful and my biggest problem was bros coming up and telling me they got my back. One guy did it five times.
So lucky for us no Necro riot part two, just a really long meet and greet at the end of the night.

Article About the Necro Riot
A recent show by aggro rap head Necro got downright out of hand in Vancouver over the weekend. According to reports, police were forced to storm the city's Richard's on Richards nightclub Saturday night (March 21) after concertgoers began rioting when the NYC MC failed to show up for his performance.
Apparently, the crowd had been waiting for hours to see Necro only to find out late in the evening that he would not be performing due to travel delays and would have to reschedule the show for Sunday (March 22), ABORT Magazine reports. This bad news quickly erupted in violence, leading many in the crowd to begin throwing glasses, bottles, tables and chairs at the stage, where the DJ still stood.
The Vancouver police department was reportedly called in and forced to usher the angry patrons outside, where shouts of "police brutality" rang out as the police allegedly slammed Necro fans to ground and used what ABORT calls "unnecessarily violent tactics." In the scuffle, one security guard at Richard's was sent to hospital after receiving a deep gash on his head from being hit by a glass bottle, the magazine reports.
After Vancouver police eventually dispersed the crowd, Necro's publicity team issued the following statement:
Necro's vehicle broke down on way from Calgary. It took six hours to fix, and they were on route to arrive at 12:45 a.m. with enough time to complete his set when they hit the mountains, the existing weather conditions placed their arrival at after 2 a.m. (curfew is 2 a.m.).
When we all discovered that, we had a refund plan worked out for those who couldn't attend a make up show, and we were on the phone trying to reschedule as early as tomorrow at Richard's, but some people decided to ruin chances of the make-up date because Necro's vehicle broke down and they needed to blame someone.
We had the ability to offer refunds on the spot but that opportunity to do so was ruined for no good reason. Richard's doesn't wish to host the show after the way people acted. There was an opportunity for everything to get resolved smoothly, but some people didn't care for that to happen so they started shit.
Necro will post a statement once he gets through the mountains and can get net access.

I'll bet she only does that until someone gets pissed and lights her up. I'm no expert in mosh pit etiquette, but something tells me the "little slip of a girl" has a black eye in her future...
It would only have made her happy that people were following her rules.
