My name is Adam Ovoid and i am a psychedelic electronic music producer. Here is a little info about me and how i have come to be on Steemit.
I have been a guitarist since i was 12 years old. i was learning through teaching myself Classic Rock/Funk/Metal songs i grew up with. As i got into high school i started to mess around in DAWs (digital audio workstations) , experimented with making hip hop beats and psy trance while learning the basics of the programs . Now I am constantly trying to merge my classic roots with the psychedelic electronic music style that has emerged and gained popularity in the last few decades. So far in my career as a producer i have accomplished many of my goals. Shared the stage with my biggest musical inspirations and traveled the country.
(playing before Sphongle at Tipper & Friends Suwanee festival )
One thing i have learned through all this is that it is incredibly hard to make a living as an artist in todays society. even with a reliable fanbase, more often than not artist have to work other jobs on the side to support themselves. Streaming services are now the main method people use to listen to music and that doesn't have to be a bad thing. But for now it is very bad because all of the streaming services pay artists next to nothing for their work and take the lions share of the profit. i've had well over a quarter million plays on soundcloud in the last few years yet i pay them $100 a year to keep my sounds on their platform. How does that make any sense?? How do these companies get away with profiting off underground artist hard work?? These are questions i have had for years now...
So naturally i am very excited about Steemit and what it has to offer my community!! i am already seeing my friends get more compensation through this platform in a few weeks than what ive made from years of streaming revenue. The potential this platform has to support and empower the arts all over the world is immense and i am truly ecstatic to be a part of this so early on. I have been investing in and studying Blockchain technologies for a year now and have been hearing about STEEM for some time. After hearing about it too many times to ignore i finally looked into it and here i am! Steemit is revolutionary and i am honored to be here with all of you!!!
Welcome!
Seems an awesome festival :)
I wish you all the best.
