Saudade: Dramatic Short Film With Music by @playitforward
Hi Steemians, this is a short film project that I was hired to compose the music for.
Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!
The score changed dramatically with the process as I worked with the director. The initial instinct was to make it fully orchestral. It ended up being a piano-driven score with an orchestra backing it. This was to help make it smaller, and more intimate. On top of it feeling smaller, I chose to use chamber ensemble patches vs. full symphonic orchestra patches. This allows me to have it sound more raw and barren.
The Film
This is a great short created by a friend of mine. She asked me to help out and offered to pay so it was a great project to be a part of. The emotional twists in it make it special, and I hope to

1m1v1 Montage with Music
Take a look at the version of the montage sequence with the music written originally. It did turn out better in the v2. This is a take with it being less pianistic. As it was difficult dissecting the story, it was also difficult figuring out how much of the story I wanted to give away with the music. It's clear that there's a mix between happiness, sadness, and in between. There's fear, and anger. All of this needs to balance and using a cohesive theme.
Steemians, please let me know what you think of the short and the music.
