I'm Christoffer, and i make make music in my free time.
I'm from norway, 27 years young, and work in wholesale as a salesman in my family company. But my true passion lies in music. I play bass in a band, which is at this stage just for fun, and i Produce music in a DAW(music software). I have no illusions about music being my career, or it being my main source of income, but i hope that Steem might atleast redeem some of the hundreds of hours i spend on making music into some income (this depends on people liking it offcourse).
Steem can be a powerful platform for musicians.
When i was told about steem, i instantly thought about what a great opportunity this can be for musicians and music producers. The biggest problem with the music industry today in my opinion is that the music industry still dictates what most people listen to and like. this has offcourse changed with the rise of platforms like spotify, bandcamp, soundcloud and the like. But it is the billion dollar record companies that has the power to influence preferences by huge promotions and advertising for artists they see fit to earn them money. I think Steem can change this for many artists that make quality music but can't reach out to the masses because they are not interesting enough for the record industry, and they have to work in a normal job to sustain themselves. i know that around the world we have so much incredible talent just waiting to be discovered, and with the emergence of Steem, i think that a lot of musicians can share their work and get the pay they deserve for all the hours they put in music people can enjoy. And in turn have the time to make more without having to think about getting the money to live elsewhere. I know a lot of excellent musicians that make great music, and is on all music platforms that just does not get the attention they deserve because they don't have the means to promote themselves properly. I hope Steem can help with this.
Just my to cents on Steem and music.
Welcome to steemit @resus !
Do not forget to verify your account by holding photo paper with the words "steemit" :)
thx!
will do!
that's what's up buddy. keep doing your thing. the gratification you get off making music you love is just undescribable. the steemit model could quite well work for up and coming musicians. i won't bet on it though, cause we as humans tend to gravitate more towards what we know / are familiar with.
IT-guy / music hobbyist / lurker ;)
Welcome to Steemit, Christoffer! I would highly recommend using additional tags, such as #introduceyourself, to get more exposure.
I totally agree. I think we need a music category that has a separate vote (competes only against other music)
Right! I think that it will come later when the demand gets high enough. they are probably already working on something like that :)
Welcome, and here's to all forms of art taking off on an exciting journey! Glad to have you here.
