For a retro throwback, I've got to go with "Roadrunner" by The Modern Lovers. Better than most songs that are released today.

As for a modern masterpiece, I'll go with the first track off of one of my all-time favorite albums. Here's Titus Andronicus with "A More Perfect Union."

    Two fine choices! I dig both of these. Love the riff on A More Perfect Union
