At first sight, it looks like it’s set up quite a bit like Facebook, or any social network site really. And it seems that it works about the same as those sites do as well. On this site, when you listen to songs and actively communicate with other artists, you acquire Karma Points. Which can then be used (once you have enough saved up) to have the site promote your music, but I do believe it's just promoted only on this site. These promotions can be anything from guaranteed radio plays (on the sites radio), getting a special page for your music, and even being featured as a top artist. And of course you can buy Karma points if you want, or just listen to all different kinds of new music and find musicians around the world that have the same music tastes as you!
As well as the looks of other social sites, there is also discussion threads, communities, and comments that you can interact with, whether it’s on your page or another musicians page. There are band pages, solo musician pages, and even producers on this site. So you can literally find anyone you may need to help, or even join, you in your music journey. I’ve even seen a few artists who are looking for things like guitarist or drummers to join their band.
I’ve only just started diving into this site as I only joined just a few days ago, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I always love to listen to new music and I have heard everything on here from christian music, metal, punk, and even electronic on this site. The search is well made with lots of different filters so that you can find exactly the type of music you are looking for. Even if you are searching for musicians in a particular place.
Here is a screenshot of my page for reference
At the bottom of the page is the radio, where you can listen to the songs featured on it and also make a playlist of the songs that you like. You can also comment and thumbs up or down a certain song. There is even a filter option on the radio so that it only plays the type of music you want to hear.
Now remember that this is only my opinion and I am still learning about the site and what it does. All in all, my first opinion is that it’s cool, but I’m not really sure if it is actually useful if you aren’t looking for… let’s say, musicians to join your band or something of that nature. Now remember that it has only been a few days since I've joined, and I certainly do not have the Karma points required to promote my music on there yet. So I am still learning things about this site. In fact I haven’t even had a listener to my music yet. But I do have one follower already… haha! But as a musician, time is money and if there isn’t any real value made by spending your time trolling this site, then what is the point really. Either way, I will stick with it for a little while and see what comes of it! If you decide to join, then find me and hit me up for a follow!
