Simón Ángel - En Hombros de Gigantes (original prog-rock composition)

in #music7 years ago

4th song on my "511-418-213" series.

En Hombros de Gigantes, or In the Shoulders of Giants, comes from "If I have seen further it is by standing on the sholders [sic] of Giants", stated by Sir Isaac Newton in a letter to Robert Hooke, regarding the use of previous knowledge acquired by fellow scientists in Newton's own research. Although this happens all the time in my (or anyone's) academic research field, now I refer especifically to this process in music: it's no coincidence that this song may sound like Fear of the Dark by Iron Maiden or various Tool songs.
And, in the end, this happens in all instances of life, because, as it was said in Cloud Atlas (book by David Mitchell and a 2012 movie), "From womb to tomb, we are bound to others". So basically, this is a song about life itself (aren't all songs like this?)

Closing remark: "While we all have lots of bands who influence still…we all rip off Meshuggah!" - Devin Townsend.

Made only with GuitarPro5 and Audacity.
