I'm trying out different styles of composition and different processes for creating a new tune, trying to find my voice and figure out what works for me and what doesn't work.
In this tune I am composing a Canon.
A Canon is like a musical game of 'follow the leader'. Think of the children's song "Row Row Row Your Boat" You begin with a melody and then a short time later, while the first melody is still going, you repeat the melody exactly. This can be done any number of times and with different instruments. Even though the melodies are the same, because they are offset in time they can create constantly changing harmonies.
The most famous example of a canon is Canon in D sometimes known as Pachelbel's Canon by Johann Pachelbel. This happens to be my favorite piece of music, so I wanted to try creating one myself.
I am reasonably happy with how it turned out, and I had fun composing it. I am sure I will do more of them.
This was also one that I composed for February Album Writing Month (FAWM)

That had to be my favorite trip we ever took. I had seen that image in so many places, but to know THIS ONE was taken by you, just blew my mind. Now you have created music that helps to make the memory even richer.
So very proud of you.
That piece of art is most excellent!!! That is a beautiful sculpture, crafted with critical senses and perfection that I suspected that you had been endowed with.
Thank You!
