Hey my fellow Steemian music lovers I was sent this report by a friend of mine who knows how much I appreciate and love music. I was also sent this link as I don't watch TELIEVISON all I do is create things, listen to music and live life. I am not influenced by the media as I don't read a daily journal either but I know what's going on in the world by interacting with people across the globe on a daily basis I have family in every corner of the globe thanks to the internet so I get my news off the ground.
How did we get from being the royalty of music to the above situation that is the question? I grew up in a home where music was a key part of our everyday life, my parents listened to Motown soul, jazz, swing beats, Afro beats and studio 1 reggae. I grew up listening to real music, not the modern computerized stuff that you can make in your bedroom in 10mins lol. Why are we now with all the modern technology, education and understanding of business law at this stage not producing the kind of high level vibrant music that will celebrate and elevate it's listeners. What is the situation with the industry insiders that allow our modern artist to be influenced to sell their soul for MONEY. That's right I said it the difference between old skool artist and modern day artist is the LOVE OF MONEY 7 NOT THE ART. The artist my parents listened to created timeless, conscious masterpieces of music that we still play and enjoy today.
Artist that sell out their soul for money are currently influencing the younger generation and audiences across the globe, polluting the minds and consciousness of youths. Music touches the soul and can either enhance or lower the mood and tones received by the listener.
I was brought up listening to brilliant artist like Gil Heron -Scott, Bob Marley, Micheal Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye Miriam Makeba, Fela Kuti to name the many more greats that will leave the echos of times etched into society, so the current playlist of hip-hop reads like young thug, frightened thug, killer thug, excuse the pun as I only know young thugs name because he is cross gender or gay I'm not quite sure, but I am not really interested to research or even find out. I don't appreciate low level vibrations so I can't research young thug and his other peers who spit out worthless, aimless low frequency garbage as I won't even give it the title of music. I may be harsh but this is just my opinion bully for those that enjoy and appreciate meaningless distasteful noise, I just know that we should be excelling in this thing not crushing or sabotaging our heritage like this so sad really. Do people not advice these characters that they will not be relevant in 10 years? I wonder. How much more of this can we take?
I am an African living in the diaspora music is a treasure if only they knew, I will tell you what my grandparents taught my parents MUSIC IS THE KEY OF LIFE we use it to celebrate, birth, union, death and life. We use music to tell the stories of old and new we use it to bring about harmony, peace, unity and love within the music and it is the KEY. The question now is how will we preserve the beauty that has been handed down to us by our ancestors? Music's tones and sounds play a major role in our DNA because of the energies that the sound of music generates within our cells stimulates mood and feelings. To those who choose to use this craft to trap and dumb down the mass SHAME ON YOU and your days are numbered mark my WORDS.
I would hope that the STEEMIT hip hop artist and musicians on this platform will create and distribute music that will bring the universe to it's SOUL just like the godfather of soul James Brown. Create music that is timeless that we will be proud of that will bring us to tears of joy, of repairing and healing the wounds of old and lastly melodies that will uplift the spirits of our ancestors and all the generations to come.

I agree, yet, unfortunately the music industry has been sabotaged by those who are lost in the greed of money and power. The music's integrity has been ran amuck by commercialism...it won't sell without an image, which is very sad indeed. Music use to be used to paint an image of love, strength, and courage. Strong masculine, and feminine, roles were displayed as characters to look up to, not the current "I don't give a crap about you, or me" figures of today's generation.
But, music, as we say, "real music" is a Divine entity within itself. Natural forces of law, and principals, are not one to be toiled with, or taken for granted. Natural forces, such as music, always has a way of correcting itself.

I other than the technology part i do that and it takes way longer than one thinks.
My symphony of bass song took me a week to make.
But that aside.
This is something I did, it is horror-able as it used auto-tune and I dislike that a lot. This was just to test how I feel about recording myself.
