Well hello again steemians,

I know some of you must have missed reading my thoughts on some songs, but not to worry I am here again with another motivating and exciting song on this episode.

In case you have been missing episodes of crank up your stereos, you can catch up on the recent ones
here and here.

Today, we would be doing the beautiful song titled "SCARS TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL" by ALESSIA CARA.

This song really speaks to me on a personal level, as a girl in a small minded world, I have a lot of insecurities; with everything I do or go into, I have to be so conscious of myself and I ask myself every day, if I wear this colour won’t I look broader or fatter? If I wear this armless top will it show too much skin? I can’t afford to wear stripes, I don’t want to look like a Zebra with pregnant issues....this is just the least of what I and many other girls face, in fact other people face far worse to the point where they contemplate suicide.

In this world we live in, you will never be perfect. Today people say “girl you look so fat” and the moment you lose weight they ask “girl, are you sick?” Sometimes it could be that you are too short or too fat or too skinny or too tall, too light or too dark. I mean we can’t just win with people.

This song tries to portray a girl who craves so much attention validation in the eyes of people that she forgets the most important which is that she is BEAUTIFUL, IMPERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL.

She forgets the best kind of beauty is the internal beauty, ”the light that shines from within, deeper than the eyes can find it” but because there has so much hammering on the lack of the outer beauty or not reaching the world’s beauty standards, no one sees the inner beauty. Which made her forget the beautiful thing she has inside making her hide behind material things.

But look at the bright side there is hope, there is a light shining in the dark, you are beautiful warts and all, you don’t have to change a thing, the close minded world can change its heart, because they happen to be the myopic ones, leave them to change and fix themselves, there are no scars to your beautiful, no blemish, no stain, you are TOTALLY Beautiful.

This girl after going through so much judgements, her insecurities starts to cloud who she really is, turning her to a shadow of herself. She started from chasing the shallow definition of beauty, starving herself to fit in “asking what’s a little bit of hunger” She never understood that she was perfectly imperfect, she is worth every bit of it!

The beauty that matters, the one that counts goes deeper that the superficial one. She doesn’t understand that the people that are worth listening to are the ones that dig deeper than the surface and are willing to find out the Diamond in the Rough.

Wherever you are and whoever you are, you are indeed worth it, you have to remember that you are beautiful, that we are beautiful. Never forget that and you better believe it, because there is no better you than the you that you are now, no better life than the one you are living, no better time to shine than now, because you are a star...and a beautiful one at that so don’t ever doubt that.

As usual check out the video here and sing along using the lyrics below too, I hope we all get to shine our lights while we have the opportunity now.

LYRICS.

[Verse 1]

She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don't see the light that's shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
Cause cover girls don't cry after their face is made.

[Chorus]

But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark You should know you're beautiful just the way you are And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful,
we're stars and we're beautiful
Oh, oh, oh Oh-oh, oh, oh
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful,
we're stars and we're beautiful

[Verse 2]

She has dreams to be an envy, so she's starving
You know, cover girls eat nothing
She says "beauty is pain and there's beauty in everything"
"What's a little bit of hunger?"
"I can go a little while longer," she fades away
She don't see her perfect,
she don't understand she's worth it
Or that beauty goes deeper than the surface, oh, oh So to all the girls that's hurting,
let me be your mirror
Help you see a little bit clearer the light that shines within.

[Chorus]

There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful,
we're stars and we're beautiful

[Bridge]

No better you than the you that you are
No better you than the you that you are
No better life than the life we're living
No better life than the life we're living
No better time for your shine, you're a star
No better time for your shine, you're a star Oh,
you're beautiful, oh, you're beautiful

[Chorus]

And there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark You should know you're beautiful just the way you are And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful,
we're stars and we're beautiful
And you don't have to change a thing
The world could change its heart
No scars to your beautiful,
we're stars and we're beautiful.
