seeing Queen.I thought I ought to join in some more with @hockney with the #shirtonsunday theme. This is where you can post a commemorative shirt from a gig or anything really and tell the story behind it. @hockney has hundreds of shirts, so he could do this forever as he keeps buying them. They are worth a read. I just have a few, but will post what I have. I have done one previously on
I have been into Led Zeppelin since my teens. I never got to see them live as John Bonham had already passed away by then. However Robert Plant and Jimmy Page got back together for an MTV Unplugged that turned into an album and tour. That first album had lots of Zep songs and a few new ones recorded in various locations. I missed that tour, but got tickets for the one in support of the second album.
There are a few good songs on that album, but it lacked the magic of the previous one. Seeing them live was the closest I was likely to get to seeing Led Zeppelin. I am not sure which date of the two I went to. I remember we were a long way back on one side of the arena.
I found a set list and you can see it is mostly Zep songs. Nobody was complaining about that. I have a memory that they had a good drummer and that Page did his Theremin thing during Ramble On.
It is a long time ago, but it was something special for me. Of course the guys got back together with John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham to play a gig in 2007. I did not even apply for tickets that time, but I would have been very lucky to get any as there were millions of people after them. I am sure they have been offered plenty of money to do it again. Jimmy Page does not seem to be interested in recording or performing any more, which is a shame. I did see Jones come on stage with Foo Fighters a couple of years back, so I have seen all three of them do something. Actually I saw Plant perform at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert and I saw Page interviewed live.
It would be cool to hear some gig stories from others on Steem.

What a great shirt!
We missed that tour so I am dead jealous.
Led Zeppelin were a band I totally failed to see, although I have seen Robert Plant a few times.

I know Plant plays some different versions of Lep tunes, but I have not really followed his output for a while. Remember Big Log? :)
I try not to remember it :)

I quite liked it and maybe this guy did too.
I saw Jason play with Sammy Hagar as part of The Circle. It was a great show. That is an awesome shirt!
That is a slick shirt. I like the design.

Makes me smile that there is a Jimmy Page cherub arse on it :) I like a shirt with some originality. Not so into those that just a photo of the artist as most that I like don't look that great.
Styles that are like this shirt, make me think of the 90's. I was big into classic rock and bands like Sublime and Blind Melon. My all time favorite is Pearl Jam.

As I said in another comment this era passed me by really. I was more of an 80s kid who liked classic rock.
