In the age of Rage Against the Machine, in the time of Seven Nation Armies, an era began to emerge that had long been forgotten but had never really rested in peace in the souls of millions worldwide. As eras do, this one made its mark in the late twentieth century. The rebellions and outright excesses of the sixties and seventies were but remnants of times come and gone and now a more refined but whimsical sentiment was present. Echoes of these tones resonated in the nineties with curious but subliminal force. It was sweet music to a new generation, a New Order was looming. Just as if it had never been lived this. almost lost, decade of song and dance re emerged with joyful exuberance. The Cure for old and young was present once more. The tide of time that had once ripped away this addictive escape had brought it to shore one more time. Our Tears and Fears seized immediately. It was a "new wave", one that would bring A Flock of Seagulls. Now the excess was INXS and U2 could try it. Billy became an Idol and we celebrated a White Wedding. Our Simple Minds connected and our Naked Eyes saw the truth. "When In Rome do as the romans" was our motto. The age of electronica had regressed from The Ocean Blue and we were happy again. Retrofitted for a new century and programmed with a decade of eclectic music we were ready for tomorrows sorrows. But our Scoundrel Days were over, A-ha, ready to Take on Me?
