Ok got that playing? So what's coming up next?
Next Friday will be the online release of the Awakening art/story project. Twenty creators have joined together to tell the story of a broken down android stranded on a desolate planet.
I'm still putting the final pieces in place but it looks like we will have:
- 3 x short stories
- 4 x poems
- 20 x images
- 6 x videos
- and an actual robot built by an artist in Berlin!
Here is a sneak preview of some of the highly varied ways the awakening creative community have interpreted the theme:

Robot Preview
The robot itself arrived from Berlin this week after one aborted attempt where customs sent it back to Germany! So it's already a well travelled robot! It actually has 4 separate 'screens' plus a coloured LED strip all of which run through a sequence showing the robot trying to start up from a low battery/low state of repair state. The sequence runs for about 5 mins finishing with the robot realising it is alive and composing a poem (of which there are several randomly picked each time it runs).

Poetry Preview
I'm going to be sharing more from the art project very soon but here's one of the poems to whet your appetite:
A broken bod, of steel and rod, the android doth adventure,
He steps along, his journey long, sensors old and broken,
Crash landed thus, fate’s cruel thrust, the path ahead indentured,
Hope yet ahead, enlightenment's thread, a robot's brain awoken.The robot’s name, a mystery plain, memories faint oblivion,
Discovery’s light, a self to ignite, the sparks of knowledge flow,
Down forest path and mountain pass, to white beaches Caribbean,
Through steps so long, though weary strong, no rest for him did show.

London Exhibition
The Awakening art/story project will also be showcased at a physical installation in London on 26th April 2025. I have some special plans for that - it will be walk in/free all day with a ticketed event in the evening with live performances/talks/readings from some of the artists.
