🛸Awakening Has Arrived – Album Out Now on Bandcamp!

in #music2 days ago

The wait is over - my 10 track album Awakening is out today on Bandcamp!

I've been working on this since August last year and there have been some big emotional lows and highs during that time! This is definitely a high though - getting the full album to your ears for the first time...

A note about Bandcamp vs. Streaming

NB: You can listen to the album for free on Bandcamp or purchase the MP3s to download and keep. It's Bandcamp Friday, which means Bandcamp waives it's fees—so all of your support goes directly into helping me create more experimental electronic music!

If you are looking for it on Spotify/Amazon/Apple Music etc you have one more week to wait but you can pre-save it here.

More about Awakening

An album with a difference, Awakening is part of a collaborative project woven into a story.

The album takes listeners on an epic journey through electronic and experimental styles, from the dark and moody Desolation to the uplifting and energetic Hope. Each track began as a live modular synth performance—shaped in real time on Twitch, where audiences could influence the evolving sound through chatbot commands.

Awakening is a bold, experimental collaboration, embracing creative chaos and the unexpected—much like a modular synth itself.

About the album inception.

The whole concept for this album was conceived on one of my Twitch streams last summer where some of my viewers started creating a story with me alongside the music and sounds I was improvising at the time. And it was all about a broken down robot on a desolate planet. It was such a unique experience creating live in this spontaneous way and I really liked the theme which I also think fits well with my chosen instrument (modular synth) and with my style of music. So I set about creating an album and art/story project along those lines!

About the Art/Story Project

Twenty creators have joined me in crafting a multidisciplinary body of work, blending music, narrative, and visual art—one collaborator from Berlin is even shipping over a physical robot!

Arriving online on 21st March, the Awakening Art/Story project will also be presented as a physical audio-visual exhibition in London on April 26th.

This one-of-a-kind experience brings together 20 creators, each interpreting Awakening in their own unique way through music, art, 3D animation, storytelling, and poetry. The installation will be open all day. More info on the London exhibition here.

Among others, the exhibition will feature work from hive artists/writers: @horrorweapon @iodacasamia and @stuartcturnbull and I can't wait to start showing you their creations in the next post coming soon!

Big shoutout to @steevc for already buying the album on Bandcamp - thank you Steve!!!

I wondered if you would notice :) I hope it does really well.

!BEER

of course I noticed! 3 sales so far which as we know will dwarf any income I'll ever get from Spotify! Hope you enjoy it and thanks again!

I've just been listening. Some nice Jean-Michel Jarre vibes there. It fits the theme perfectly.

Thank you that's such a lovely compliment Steve!

When people ask who my influences are it's a difficult one - I feel like the music comes out of me (and the machine I use!). But I would count Jean-Michel Jarre among my influences as well as Tangerine Dream and Mike Oldfield. (I think the track Hope is reminiscent of some of his work)

I'm a big user of Bandcamp too. Gonna play it tomorrow on my car ✌🏻
I've already spent like 50€ on this bandcamp friday 😎

Thank you very much! I've checked out your website (which is great btw) and found you on Bandcamp now too!

Have an awesome weekend!

Thank you, I'll buy the album!

Thank you!

Can't wait to start showing your brilliant art in connection with the project both hear on Hive and elsewhere - watch this space!

Congratulations on the new album! I know you worked hard to get it out!!

it sounds great! While listening to the tracks, I had a feeling that I heard them already... Probably parts from your Twitch streams! 😀

Haha you definitely would have heard parts of them as they all started out as jams on Twitch streams - but it then took me over 6 months to turn those into polished tracks that (I hope) people will want to listen to over and over.

Thanks again for all your support!
