There’s a lot happening to kick off the year! Here’s what’s coming up:
- Two gigs in the next few weeks
- Your last chance to get involved with the Awakening art/story project
Thursday, 23rd January: Pie in the Sky
Join me at a space (and pie!)-themed party night at Walthamstow Trades Hall, London.
It's free - just turn up from 7 PM!
Arriving by flying pie is recommended but not required.
Saturday, February 8th: Electronic in the Tower 7 (London)
The incredible duo And/Or join me for another night of electronic music inside a medieval tower in North London, with visuals by 2 Digit Visuals.
Born out of improvised electronic music jams, And/Or perform part composed/part improvised music spanning an eclectic mix of ambient electronica, trip hop, breaks, and techno.
2 Digit Visuals is a visual artist and VJ, passionate about the intersection between motion visuals and music.
He has been perfecting his technique for narrative visuals, expanding his visuals and developing his style for nearly a decade using generative, real-time interactive techniques alongside machine learning and audio-reactive algorithms to create a unique visual experience.
Early bird tickets are available for a few more days—grab yours here.
Last Chance to Join: Awakening Collaborative Project
You have until January 31st to submit your creation for the Awakening art/story project. The premise?
An android awakens in the wreckage of a crashed spacecraft on a desolate, alien planet. Severely damaged and with only a fraction of its former capabilities, it struggles to regain functionality. Initially disoriented it sets out, driven by an innate curiosity and the desire to understand its environment—and itself.
Why get involved?
Your work will:
- Be featured online alongside my album.
- Be part of a physical audio-visual installation in London this April.
- Get to know other creators taking part in the project - maybe some future collaborations too!
Head here or reply in the comments and I'll send you the details!
But don't delay - there are only a few weeks left to send in your submission. The time as they say... IS NOW 😁
There are some really exciting things happening for the project. It's super interesting to see the widely varying takes and interpretations on the premise of the broken down android on a desolate planet.
Someone is building a robot model with two screens for it's eyes and I've just been watching him on Twitch building it, coding it and 3d printing the wheels! He's in Germany and is going to ship it over to London for the installation.
Someone else has created a series of images that link the premise to his own sleep traumas he had as a child.
Others have more playful (and cute!) takes on the robot/android.
Whether you plan to get involved or not, I hope your January is filled with space-themed electronic music and creative adventures! 🚀
Cheers,
