Please tell me: You always know exactly how many patch cables you have and use?
Normally I don't even think about it. I guess I have an idea if I've used a lot because I start running out of spares in certain lengths - but normally that means I've been a bit lazy with not picking the optimal lengths and I can redo some connections with shorter cables to free up some longer ones. Some day I should probably add up how much I've spent on the cables... maybe that's another competition!
I know some people who use modulars just always use long patch cables and let them droop down. I think that's ok for sound design but because I'm playing hour long live sets/radio shows on it I need it to be at least tidy enough that I can get to most of the controls (and that's where velcro cable ties come in - though that's probably for another post!)

I can imagine it didn't come cheap with the patches. The whole Modular setup isn't inexpensive as well.
