Pearl Jam's video for Jeremy was release 25 years ago this week.
I remember this video being on heavy rotation on MTV back in the day. It was one of my favorite music videos and is my all time favorite Pearl Jam song. I was a huge MTV fan growing up and would watch every morning when I was getting ready for school.
Pearl Jam - Jeremy
I mean wow this video is truly a visual punch in the gut! The video was directed by Mark Pellington and starred Trevor Wilson. The video was cut for MTV because it originally showed the boy putting a gun in his mouth at the end of the video.
The YouTube channel The Consequence of Sound has made a great video documenting 25 years later highlighting some interesting facts. The video and the song where based on a real suicide that had occurred in Richardson, TX on January 8, 1991.
