Hey Hivers!
As a band deeply rooted in the ethos of exploring, storytelling, and connecting through music, our recent tour week in the Netherlands was nothing short of an extraordinary adventure. From the lively streets of Tilburg to the educational halls of HAN University in Nijmegen, our journey was filled with unforgettable moments, music, and new friendships.
Tilburg: Where Music Meets Heart
Our Dutch escapade began in Tilburg, a city that welcomed us with open arms and vibrant spirits. Our stay was made exceptionally memorable thanks to our amazing hosts and super Troublemakers, Henk, Angela, and Daniël. Their generosity and warmth set the tone for what was to become a week filled with love, music, and mischief.
A Magical Night in Eindhoven
In Eindhoven, we were graced with the opportunity to collaborate with the incredibly talented dancer Sophie van Grinsven at our concert at Burgers. Sophie's passion for dance and her ability to express our music through her choreography was truly awe-inspiring. That evening, as we played and Sophie danced, there was a palpable sense of magic in the air—a glimpse into the boundless possibilities that this year holds for us.
Sunshine and Smiles at the Fantasy Markt in Ter Apel
Our journey continued to the Fantasy Markt in Ter Apel, where we spent two glorious days under the sun, surrounded by the most wonderful people. The Markt was a vibrant tapestry of creativity, with artisans, performers, and visitors all contributing to an atmosphere of communal joy and appreciation for fantasy and folklore. It was a reminder of the beautiful connections that music and art can foster.
Nijmegen: Music, Identity, and Education
In Nijmegen, we delved into the academic world, thanks to an invitation from our dear friends Ellen and Bryan. At HAN University, we led a workshop on Music and Identity Construction, sharing our insights and engaging in meaningful discussions with students. The experience was enriching, offering us a fresh perspective on the impact of music on personal and collective identities.
Reflections and Looking Forward
As we bid farewell to the Netherlands, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the experiences shared, the friendships forged, and the music that brought us all closer. This tour was a testament to the power of music to unite, inspire, and transform.
Now, we turn our sights to a brief period of rest and reflection before we embark on our next adventure—performing at Elfia. With renewed energy and inspired hearts, we look forward to continuing our journey, sharing our music, and spreading the message of "More Violins, Less Violence."
The Netherlands, thank you for the memories, the music, and the magic. Until we meet again.
Looks like you're having a great time. I've enjoyed my trips to the Netherlands too.
