.so there isn't many out there and only a rare few of them put out the kind of soul, power and pure energy that just takes over.how you may ask can 2 people do this on such a scale, all of my life I have been blown away by the musical ability of two people such as
white stripes, black keys, death from above 1979 and even the new age music of sylvan esso and purity ring. these bands create such a vibe and energy in the crowds that if you closed your eyes for a second the sound explodes into something much more then 2 people playing instruments or singing. the amount of effort put forth to create such sounds and power is just amazing. I have been a huge fan of music and musicians my whole life and even more impressed by the ones who can break the barriers of sound, like "jack white" a man who has been rocking the world with his sister to become one of the biggest bands on the planet, with sub par drumming and cheap garbage guitars. these two managed to sweep the world by storm, with a mixture of old school blues and rock with some highly electric pounding new age sound. Nothing even compares to what these two have done over the years, many have tried but they never came close.
another amazing two piece was the black keys with a similar sound but more into the old school slower blues and rock, before they added new member and sold out there sound to the music industry. there first few albums were absolute perfection and there live act was incredible, but they eventually gave in and added bass, guitar and keyboard and that was there downfall, change the name at least because the black keys are dead and I dono who the fuck these new guys are.
on to my 3rd favorite that involves bass and drums, something never previously heard of before.

Death from above 1979 came out swinging with there amazing punk/rock fast . quick sound, and changed up the game as we know it. no one would have expected so much raw and intricate emotion from a bass guitar but they pushed it out and created something new, something edgey, something weve all been waiting for. for two people these guys really gave it to the audience, the energy was insane from most of the live shows I witnessed, and the crowd reacted and pushed the energy even higher. I seen many bands now a days that cant even get a response from the crowd and you just see a bunch of head nodding and fist pumping bullshit, these people just make music they aren't living it they aren't giving everything the have, and these bands will die out, fuck em I say, you have one job to get up there and blow peoples minds with music, if you cant do that please go sing country music. peace
There is something magical indeed about the simplicity of there melody as well, the power to the sound. This post reminded me how great all these guys are.. I think I might just go listen to these guys for a few hours and finish up my next art tutorial post! Cheers Trav, keep up the great work.
Good post my friend i am @djnoel :)
Another 2 piece band that you might want to check out on youtube is a band called "Frenchy and the Punk". They tend to play the steampunk circuit, but they're really good. The guitarist used to be in a few different punk bands.
