Gain staging does matter in the Digital Audio Workstation of today.

Yes we now have floating points maths, and yes clipping your channels doesn't mean you're clipping the audio, but it doesn't take away from the fact that gain staging is a practice always best learned. The process of managing levels through the chain is still very relevant in 2017.

I happen to know from many clients and consumers of my content that it has actually improved their mix process.
