Modern Talking - Dieter Bohlen - Most successful German Act
Apart from all our awesome inventors of Electronic Dance Music like Kraftwerk and the internationally successful DJs in Techno, Trance and more such as Sven Väth, Paul van Dyk, Jam&Spoon @andyjaypowell @mikenero to name a few there has to be a mention of Modern Talking - in terms of German Music that became successful internationally - like it or not - Dieter Bohlen killed it commercially - similar to Frank Farian with Boney M. - probably the two most successful projects out of Germany.

As a community that is censor free and should be fair to truth, when it comes to the most successful acts in a certain genre - this is probably one we have to present for German Dance.As most of the things around the band and DB have been outlined and posted already earlier let us the a look at the early days. Back in 1984, Bohlen cited the hit single "Precious Little Diamond" (by Fox the Fox), as his inspiration for using falsetto choruses. This together wis his amazing skill to find the right music for the right music made MT a legend.
The entire global sales of Modern Talking, after the duo's second and final break-up in 2003, had reached 120 million singles and albums combined, making them the biggest-selling German music act in history. The popular Dietmar that some people call useless and shot without knowing what he does in a charity way also composed for other artists while still in Modern Talking, such as for Chris Norman and Smokie, whose song "Midnight Lady" (1986) remains Bohlen's most popular composition.

In France, in the '80s we had a wave of German singers who swept over our music charts such as Nena, Nina Hagen, Scorpions, Trio, Falko, Kraftwerk with "Tour de France"... all performing different style of music but all very talented. Maybe some will jump to my throat but I belive that German music is what mostly influenced the so called "French Touch" music.
