Psychedelic Ska

in #music8 years ago

Hi Folks, I am here for many reasons, most of which I am not aware of yet, but one that I am aware of is the need to tell you all about my latest musical project. I'm a musician, amongst other things, and I like to spend large amounts of time thinking about music; not just in the philosophical sense, but in terms of cycles and waves, trends and movements. Personally, I love the ska-beat, reggae and dub music end of the dance spectrum, especially when played by live musicians, and I think the millennial generations and after are coming round to this way of thinking. There are some awesome DJ's out there, who can put on great shows, but for me there are very few who can match style with content. I am showing my age, I'm sure, when I say I like DJ Shadow, Mr.Scruff, Massive Attack and Chemical Brothers. I know there are many more that could be mentioned, but these acts stand out for me. Anyway, basically what i'saying is that young folks want to dance, but to live music, and with me they can dance (ska) and trip out too(Psychedelic). This sounds fun, I would totally go to my gig, just to see what it was like, and I would not be disappointed. The set will consist of a mixture of hard-hitting political rabble-rousers and songs celebrating life, drink and madness. I have most of the set written, now to get the band together!
