an extremely interesting post inspired by a comment I made on her earlier writing on writer's block On a day when @dflo wrote , I myself got triggered by @soundwavesphoton to write today's movie post.
It was his music collabLes Maitres du Temps (Time Masters , 1982) with @breezin - who wrote and read a poem called 'We are no Masters of Time' - that immediately made me think of an extremely enjoyable, but lesser known, animated movies from the early 1980s. I am referring to a French production , called
I don't need to explain to you why a song called 'We are no Masters of Time' reminded me of this movie. A film that I enjoyed on many different levels. What made it feel even more fitting to share here, is that its soundtrack really stood out to me. I guess that, in a way, it actually reminded me of some work I've listened to from @soundwavesphoton
Anyhow, in case you've never seen this film and you're into animation, science fiction, art, Moebius - he is the genius behind the animation design in this film - and or a lover of music, you should definitely give this a watch.
Unfortunately, it's quite hard to find. Unless you still download movies or feel like paying too much money on Ebay. If you search for this title on YouTube though, you will find plenty of clips and some dubbed versions, that will give you a feel of this film and its general vibe.
Let me tell you one thing: I really feel like giving this another watch and hope that- one day - I will be adding it to my movie collection.
I hope you are having an awesome day and - as always - feel free to leave a comment or share a related story with me

You can find more info on its director and a list of his animated work - of which I would recommend Gandahar and Le Planet Sauvage (Wild Planet) - here on Letterboxd
I just spent an hour talking about how peoples stories affect each other in ever rippling concentric circles, and this post really exemplifies that. all the influence rippling back and forth creating something new each time the waves touch.
That's energy :>)
I love the perfection of these circles in water, after you drop something in it.
It makes me believe there's so much more to life than the eye can see
Talking about water, how are you doing out there?
will catch you on your blog in a bit...
I will watch this in a few weeks based on your recommendation. I never would have heard of it otherwise. Thanks for highlighting a lost Moebius gem!
Nice to see you popping up in my comments section for a change.
I'm glad to have been able to provide you with an animated gem that you hadn't seen yet.
Have a great day and thanks again for your constant support! :>)
So I watched it finally. Wasn't a fan but it was certainly interesting.
The actual animation part was not up to snuff, even for the times, and the voice acting was really terrible. The plot was disjointed, almost episodic, while the boy was lost in the forest about to be eaten by brain eating hornets. But man it was a trip and some of the images in stillness were fantastic. The ending was a nicely executed bow.
I watched Rififi last night by way of contrast (and to prove I'm not a francophobe) and it was a banger, show but don't tell, maybe a 25 minutes period of time where there was no talking, just men, hard men, Rififi men, going about the business of thieving jewels. Great stuff.
Has anyone ever told you that you should write movie reviews?
The above really makes me feel like giving it another watch myself. In fact, it reminds me of similar feelings I had, at the time.
Then again, I felt there was so much to enjoy that I forgave the film for all its flaws.
And talking about Rififi, it inspired me to do a post on classic French movies. I wonder how many of those you've seen and how you like(d) them
Bye for now,
Vincent

Wow, super! Thanks so much. Enjoy your trip in Portugal!
You're very welcome!
It's a little more than a trip.
I plan to move here, don't see a future in Holland :>)
P.S. your curation inspired me to write another (and more) music posts.
It's fun to do! So thank you and have an awesome day!
Yep, I know you are planning to move to Portugal :) Heard great stories from people who bought some land to try and create their own small communities in Portugal. Success with the search!
Posts with the topic of music, is what we like! Looking forward to see more of them coming from your fingertips.
:>)
I am not necessarily planning to start a community here in Portugal, but I would love to create some kind of creative space, close to nature. And - as soon as I manage to find one - all Steemians ( except the grumpy ones ) are welcome to visit me there and join creative forces, to make the world a little more awesome
Have an amazing day!
Sounds super! :)
