What is up Steemit community! It is that wonderful time once again!
We convene once a month to bring together our favorite people, ideas, art, culture, and music. We have been hosting this open mic for four years now and we are proud to continue our little tradition in bringing the best out in you and in ourselves.
As always we will have a headliner play an hour set at the end of the night and this month we are blessed to have Leomar Mendez, a talented and self produced MC along with our good friend Mike Wird as a special guest DJ! Much thanks to Journeys for Conscious Living for providing space for us. It's not free so we do ask for a modest donation at the door to pay for space. Whatever is left goes to the headliner.
This month will be a little different as we are doing a Local Entrepreneurs Panel in place of our live interview. We want to showcase some of our hard working members who have started their own businesses and are creating value for themselves and others. It is not easy to make it in this ever increasingly controlled and regulated country so we want to ask them about their struggles and hurdles as well. We hope this will inform and inspire people to get out there and manifest success.

We are stoked to welcome Leomar Mendez as our featured artist this month. He is a Master of Ceremony, a bilingual lyricist, a student of film, a lover of/ contributor to community, and an activist. He is fully immersed in the Denver hip hop scene and will be releasing his debut album soon called Todo Fluye; see his Facebook page(link below) for details on the release party coming very soon March 11!
Now check this out--the first months proceeds will be used to help provide food and medicine to the Venezuelan people currently going through a nasty revolution in the wake of attempted imposition of heavy socialist policies that have crippled the entire nation. That is being the change folks! We are excited to hear not only his music but his message as well.
