Like a lot of folks I fell back in love with vinyl a few years ago.
I bough this No Doubt as a birthday present to myself...
And this Re-Release of Born To Run ... just because.
It started out as a curiosity at a neighborhood flea market.
...but it is rapidly expanding into a full-blown obsession.
I’ve always been a collector ... but my collection has always been comic books. For some reason Vinyl-Lust is taking over.
I think it has something to do with valuing music in a world where music is basically free. You can download entire discographies for any artist in seconds ... it takes away from the whole magic and ownership and experience of buying a new album.
Plus it is just a good time looking and hunting ... it does something very profound to the lizard brain lurking in all of us.
...and it sounds better
Well - maybe not better - but it FEELS different
Dropping a needle on a record ... checking out the album art in a nice large format...
... ooh - this one was a gift from Amanda Palmer’s record company! ... so it’s even more special!
This is a recent purchase ... of the same album that happens to be the first album I had ever bought with my own money as a child...
More Springsteen...
And a birthday present from my lovely girlfriend just last year...
So yes ... it’s a bit of an obsession — but it’s not the worst thing you can get hooked on...
Run to the hills!! Still hoping to add that one to my vinyl collection.
Thx for sharing. I‘m hooked as well. Keep on collecting!
