María Burguillos presents “We could do it better”, a single that also covers “Potremmo fare di piu” in Italian. The song is part of the repertoire of his first album, which is entitled "Crisol" and will be available from June 25, 2021.
"We could do better".

"We could do better" stems from an awareness of our devastating impact on nature. The song speaks of the destructive and self-destructive effect of our actions and warns us that a radical change is necessary if we want to save ourselves and our environment. That means changing our attitudes, becoming aware of our mistakes, and being more humble and compassionate towards others and towards the environment. "We could do better" is a complaint, but it also tells us that we have the capacity to transform things.

The single is accompanied by a video clip in which a messenger in time shows us the degradation of our planet, turned into an uninhabitable place in which we will consume ourselves if we do not change the chip. The last image presents a green forest with a stream, a symbol of what we must preserve if we do not want to regret it.

“Crisol”, the first album by María Burguillos, proposes a bridge between Spanish and Portuguese music, which gives it a fully Iberian character, although also looking to the other side of the Atlantic. The album is composed of a variety of styles and sounds that are integrated as in a melting pot, resulting in a homogeneous whole: pop, r & b, tango, bossa, classical, rock. "World Music" is the style that defines him the most. All the songs are compositions by the producer Ménito Ramos. A very careful musical production, which combines recordings of musicians in the studio with electronic instrumentation techniques, which contributes to creating this homogeneity. The album is loaded with messages in the songs and lyrics, some of them composed by María Burguillos.

More about María Burguillos

María Burguillos was born in Badajoz, in the bosom of an Extremaduran family, being the eldest of 4 siblings. Although she is the first to dedicate herself to music professionally, she grows up in an environment in which the copla and flamenco will be very present, finding in her father, an amateur cantaor, her first source of inspiration. The different transfers of the head of the family, a Post Office official, make María Burguillos reside in different towns of Badajoz, Córdoba and Ciudad Real, although it is in Villafranca de los Barros (Badajoz) where she spends most of her youth. These continuous changes of residence will allow you to discover new environments, new people, new airs and new horizons, soaking up the cultural heritage of each of the places where you are residing. That is why it is understood when he states that: "Being Extremadura on all four sides, I have a lot of Andalusian and La Mancha"; what he owes to the years he spent in Priego de Córdoba and Almadén, places to which happy childhood memories are linked.

Her mother, "the one who awakened in me a taste for the song", encourages her to appear in different television contests: "Take a Break", "Pasa la Vida" and "What I sing for you", remaining in all of them finalist.

María Luisa Castellanos, a renowned singing teacher, was the first to discover her abilities and potential as a singer, guiding her towards operatic training. This is how he began his studies of vocal technique and interpretation.

It has also been lavished in other musical styles, in particular the Latin song, standing out in the interpretation of bolero and tango. At the age of 25 he moved to Italy, where he continued to develop his artistic career, residing in Rome and Milan, cities where he was in permanent and close contact with song and fashion.

In 2012 he moved his residence to Switzerland, although always with one foot in Spain, where he continues to offer concerts and appear on television. It is precisely in Switzerland where he meets Ménito Ramos, a prolific Portuguese music producer and composer with whom he embarks on the production of his first album, a fusion of traditional and pop music that will be released in early 2021.

In October 2019 you have the opportunity to collaborate with the Portuguese singer Mónica Sintra, one of the most romantic voices in Portugal and a frequent presence on all television programs and radio stations.

In September 2020, by the hand of Sonogrand Music, the first single from their first album was released: “Parecer y ser”; a compelling theme that addresses the personal conflict that we often face in life, having to choose between what we really are and what the "system" tells us we have to be.
