First, let me say I'm not boasting or bragging here. I'm trying to help my fellow musician friends. And anyone who has an art, passion, or small business that they work hard to promote everyday.

In the past year I've had some incredible success marketing my music on-line, and this website Patreon has been a key component of that growth.

For 20 years I've struggled as a working musician. So this is no overnight success story. And I feel your pain.

I've got about 12 other Patreon Tutorial Videos on YouTube also. So feel free to check those out...

Hope this helps in some way,

~Kev

This is great stuff! If only you had tips for poets hehe

Hi Calluna. This really could work for anyone in any industry. All you have to do is commit to being a consistent content provider, in which ever format or style that you'd like. Audio, text, video... however you like to communicate with your audience. I definitely could give some tips for a poet. Would you like some?

The consistency is where I really struggle, i currently have good back log of things to share, but i don't create enough new content. I have been trying to find alternative things that I could incorporate to add value to people wanting to support me, but I am still struggling to turn out the content so that is my first hurdle. I often look at some of the old great sci fi writers who started out writing short stories for amazing stories etc and I know I am so lucky to be able to be part of online communities who come together to help each other. Having reflected a bit on some of the things you said, i think there are a few things i could do to try and being to make a living from, and therefore devote more time to, writing stories and poems, but yes please, any tips are always appreciated!!

wonderful stuff. I can totally relate on the "pressure" for us to keep cranking out content. Especially in these times and on-line circumstances. Forgive yourself and be patient. Recently I've found continuing to find new audiences with my best evergreen content a more fruitful strategy.

Ahh that is a very good tip, it often comes up in a business sense you can expand by making new products for your current customers, or by finding new customers for your current product, but I never thought to apply that to myself! I will start trying to be on the lookout for opportunities, and maybe even take the plunge and enter a magazine contest. Thank you very much

I would be interested in learning more. What are the links to your youtube tutorials?
