Nobody became a good musician overnight and we do not always appreciate the work that was put in. People will say that someone is very talented, but there will have been thousands of hours of practice behind that. Part of it may be a gift, but you have to be driven. The music industry may be more competitive these days as anyone can put a song online. Getting it heard takes more work.
I may be a late bloomer when it comes to music. I was a bedroom player for years, but have been in various bands since my 40s. I wish I had done that sooner.
