RE: Music Monday (feel free to add your own music)

in #musicmonday7 years ago

Hi @perceptualflaws

This time I want to share one of my other favorite songs. The title is, 7 Second, a song sung by Youssou N'Dour featuring Neneh Cherry. This song won the 1994 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Song.

Some of the reasons why I always put this song on the list is in addition to the music that keeps me excited, also because of the facts of this song use three languages as the lyrics. English, French, and Wolof Languages, the traditional languages of tribes in several African countries such as Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia. Besides the main idea in the lyrics in this song is something that is very important for us to know all. Revealing the issue of violence, this song seems to invite us to re-think what is violence.

The fact that violence prevailed in the world, has really polluted the sanctity of newborn babies. Only a few seconds after babies are born of polemics and acts of violence, wars and so on are in front of them, and they grow up inheriting all the bad things.

One of my favourites too, thanks for reminding me to listen more often :)

You are welcome @ricia. The songs that the music and lyrics have the power to make us re-think about something must be heard often to keep the mental sanity. Cheers. :D

Great choice @footsteem and equally I too appreciate the inherent unity of this song. We are divided on so many fronts and yet at our core the vast majority of us are united by our humanity and our desire for peace and a better world for the children that walk this earth. Thank you for the music @footsteem

Thanks also for you @perceptualflaws. I think Music Monday should be a serial post on this platform. The simplicity of the concept that you offer here, making the discussion room about the music world more open, relaxed and also adds to my knowledge of music. At least this is my two-day diving experience in this Music Monday discussion room, and really, I really appreciate it.

Yes, I think many of us feel that way too @footsteem, thanks for my response also:)

Thank you my friend, in a world of division music is a universal language .. I really enjoy drawing us all together and focusing on the unity that musical exploration brings to us all.
