What talents do you have? Work on that. If you are good with poems or fiction stick to it and write as it comes to you. Most time people plagiarize when they want to follow what others are doing because they seek more upvotes but they do not realise that once you do that which you are good at, upvotes will always come.
If you know nothing about a subject please do not write about it. If you must do, read at least 10 articles on the subject matter. While reading make some jotting. With the jotting you can form your opinion on the subject matter and even if you must add some thoughts from the articles you read, at the end you will discover your post has a high percentage of originality then you can cite your sources.
