To each their own. It's like I stated, people are individuals and different things work for different people.
It's like comparing apples to oranges.
To create interesting, relatable characters you need to have something that appeals to more than one extreme on this spectrum.
Unless you want to do exactly that.
Then again. Each one is endearing to those who find it engaging.
