RE: Musing Posts

Mars is a planet that might be used as a place to live other than Earth from several planets that are being studied by NASA. Moreover, recently the American Space Agency discovered the water content contained in the surface of the Red Planet. Cash, speculation that Mars deserves to be inhabited by humans was sticking out.

Right or wrong, surely or not, everything is still a big question mark. To be sure, NASA is still looking for a bright spot whether the planet that has the moon Phobos and Deimos will be able to inhabit humanity in the future.

Although it is still unclear, some researchers reveal that the possibility of humans to live on Mars is still very minimal. There are several reasons that cause Mars to be impossible to inhabit.

This is the reason why Mars is uninhabitable.

1. Toxic Land of Mars

According to NASA, soil on Mars contains salt called perchlorate. The bad news is that perchlorate on Mars has a high concentration and is considered very dangerous for humans.

On Earth, perchlorate is used as a raw material for rocket fuel. On the other hand, perchlorate is listed as a substance that pollutes the environment. Long-term contact with perchlorate makes the thyroid gland function disrupted.

NASA also admitted that land on Mars could not be planted as long as plants. In fact, just touching the soil on Mars can make humans poisoned.

2. Super Cold Temperature

Don't be surprised when you hear that water on Mars has mostly turned into ice, because the average temperature on Mars is the same as Antarctica, or what is often called the ice continent on Earth. At night, the surface temperature of Mars can reach minus 70-100 degrees Celsius. So cold, carbon dioxide gas on the planet can freeze at night!

During the day, the maximum temperature is only slightly above 0 degrees Celsius. Therefore, many scientists say that humans will not be able to survive on Mars without the help of technology.

3. Radiation

Mars described NASA researchers as having high levels of radiation, there are two dangerous radiation content on Mars, including Solar Energetic Particles (SEPs) and Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs). Both can bombard humans if not supported by adequate antiradiation devices while on Mars.

Further revealed, if humans inhabit Mars by spending around 180 days, then they will experience a 15 times increase in radiation.

4. Gravity

Although humans can outsmart the problem of gravity, this is still a consideration for researchers. The level of gravity on Mars is only 38 percent so that it can still be possible for humans to be able to walk on Mars.

The consideration is that humans will be feared that they cannot walk and move freely because they are limited by the level of gravity of the Red Planet. While on Earth, the human body can accept the 'One-G' gravity condition which is able to move skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular well.

5. Atmosphere

For scientists, Mars is like a giant vacuum. Yes, even though it has an atmosphere, the conditions are very thin, making standing on Mars like standing in space or the moon.

The thin atmosphere also makes air pressure on Mars very low. Quite awful, because this makes saliva and fluids that protect the lungs instantly evaporate.

So, to survive, humans must continue to wear astronauts. And just one small hole marks the leak on the shirt, the human inside can die.

6. A week of dust storms

Summer on Mars doesn't last every year like on Earth, but only once in two years. However, that rare summer can heat up the surface of Mars and fly dust on it.

As a result, once every two years Mars is hit by a violent dust storm. It's so thick, the dust storm makes the sunlight that can touch Mars land only 1 percent!

Worse, the storm can last for 1 week and make total darkness. As a result, plants to human tools that use solar power cannot live during that time.

7. Infrastructure

Although Mars has been revealed it can have the possibility to grow plants, but this is still doubtful. Martian temperature humidity is still difficult to control. If plants grown on Mars get more oxygen, the risk of a large explosion will occur. Unfortunately, there are still few who consider this to be a serious matter.

That is the reason why Mars is uninhabitable like Earth. These reasons come from the conditions, climate and ecosystem of the Red Planet itself.
