Anti-Semitism exists till this very day and I don't think it's going away anytime soon. For those of you reading this that don't know what it is, it's the hostility to, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews. A person who holds such positions is called an antisemite.
It may not be as widespread as it was during the Holocaust but it's most definitely still happening today. Take Mark Lewis for example, he's a famed libel and privacy lawyer, living in Britain who says he's about to leave Britain. He's been worn down by years of anti-Semitic abuse and death threats, he has decided enough is enough.
He says that at least 2 people have been jailed for threatening to kill him just for the fact that he's Jewish. If anti-Semitism could still exist in a place as developed as Britain then I don't think there's anywhere that it can't exist.
As far as why it's strictly punishable worldwide, lets take a short walk through history, during the Holocaust alone, over 5.9 million Jews were killed simply because a certain world leader didn't like them. Seeing as such an injustice was done to the Jews, why on earth wouldn't it be punishable worldwide to discriminate against them.
