When you think about smart cities, the first picture that might come to your mind is a town or city that has not only embraced technology and uses these ICT services on services such as transportation and healthcare. It means more than that, see all this technology is not useful if it doesn't solve a problem. In most cases, it could be that it helped reduce how much resources is wasted and in overall reduce the costs of this resources.
When MXC
was founded in Berlin, they had one simple vision - which was to introduce an organized and methodical process that will not only simplify but also increase the number of IoT data transactions within a network. To make this happen MXC built it's entire infrastructure on a decentralized network and built an amazing protocol called the MXProtocol, a protocol that will enable a seamless machine to machine communication between Low Power Wide Access Network (LPWAN), speaking of LPWAN there's really nothing like it. It allows devices to communicate over extremely long distances at an inexpensive financial and environmental cost. Just to clarify, it's been estimated that one sensor will be able to transmit data for a decade on one battery charge. Which is pretty amazing compared to other everyday technologies like Bluetooth and WiFi.
MXC's proprietary IoT data platform and next generation LPWAN isn't just capable of turning lights on and off or pausing your music player. It's capable of so much more. Ever heard of Milton Keynes? Probably not. But it's a small town in the United Kingdom, with a population of about 300,000. But that's the point.
I just wanted to point out how they're currently utilizing IoT and LPWAN to make their processes simpler and how MXC is planning on using the same methodology on a global scale.
For example, Milton Keynes uses remote sensor technology to streamline garbage collection, thanks to sensors placed accordingly the garbage collection tracks only drive out to empty bins when they're full.
Previously trucks had to drive around aimlessly never knowing if the bins were full or not. This system not only helps save the environment because garbage trucks use less fuel as opposed to when they had to send out trucks to check on bins, it also saves the town's resources too, this is because with this system it can significantly reduce the number of human resources needed to complete a garbage collection run.
Another way Milton Keynes utilizes smart tech is it's parking system which involved the on the scene deployment of an IoT module to check on and notify relevant people of the availability of single parking spaces. This module will then pass the information thanks to LPWAN to the user's device and they can then book this parking spot based on how they need to.
It doesn't just stop there: the MXProtocol and MXC can also be applied on many more real life situations. As evidenced by Barcelona, Spain. Not only a tourist destination but a smart hub too.
For example there are a series of smart LED streetlights spread out across the entire city all of which are motion activated. These same streetlights also gather moisture and humidity information from the environment around them inorder to find out just the right amount of H20 needed to water the public parks, to avoid wastage. The bus parks in Barcelona use IoT technology to maintain real time overviews of vehicle schedules as well as offering free Wi-Fi.
It's no secret that the world is getting quite over populated. So it's important now, more than ever to implement systems that are not only friendly to the environment but systems that will also save useful resources. This is exactly what MXC is introducing.
But can achieve all this faster, cheaper and in a much better more interoperable way. Through it's interchain data market, data from different LPWAN sensors can be utilised by applications built for different blockchains. This allows developers to build APIs upon the system.
MXProtocol Stack is made up of both devices, sensors, gateways and a cloudbased system. All of the connected sensors and devices collect and gather data from different sources and send them to the cloud throught the gateway. Because MXProtocol is based of blockchain, it's decentralized nature means the solution will fit every market's needs no matter how unique.
Conclusion.
Unfortunately MXC's ICO has already been concluded but there's still many more ways you can connect with the company.

Well written article. Technology is saving us a lot of time and money and i guess truck drivers will no longer have to waste fuel looking for bins which might not be full. Kuddos team!
you are very right. technology is the future and this project has come aat the right time.
I appreciate your personal input to my work. i am happy you had a chance to read and should read the other three blogs besides this one that i wrote
