A Glance About My Struggle In Sharpen Talent

in #my-struggle7 years ago

As a human being, of course I have talent and potential. However, not all the talents I want to develop. I am the type of person who can not do a lot of work at the same time. So does my potential talents and development.

There is also a Passion. The word "Passion" has many meanings when translated into Indonesian. But the "Passion" I mean here is something or a field that when I wrestle in it, I feel calm and happy. Below I will tell you about my 2 interests:

1. Music

I was told by my parents, when my sister and I were small, most nights we did not want to sleep before my dad set the song Stairway To Heaven by Deep Purple. When the song is played, we begin to calm down and soon fall asleep.

As time went on, my music genre with my brother began to show. I love rock music while my sister loves classical music. Sure enough, when my sister was in college, she became a violinist in an orchestra made up of students on her campus. While I have started to become a band player since grade 2 junior until now.

My first passion that I found was playing guitar. Starting from my admiration for my close friend, Audi Rahmadani who can play the guitar with great skills.

Since then I started learning to play guitar and follow the classical guitar course. Actually I do not really like classical music. But my dad says it's better to take a classical guitar lesson than a guitar pop lesson. Although with a little heavy heart, I still follow the classical guitar course. However, there is always the wisdom behind things we do not expect. By following the classical guitar course, I now have the basic skills to strum the guitar strings with more skill and can be easier to determine the bass tone and the tone of his partner without the need to look at the tab (sorry my friends, I use possible terms if you do not play guitar , do not understand). Maybe someone else who has no classical basis can not be that easy to have that ability. Sorry, not arrogant, I just want to show you that do not be sad if you experience things that you do not expect because there is always wisdom behind it really :).

Not long after I learned the guitar, I found my other passion, that is singing. Not surprisingly, it was not as easy as I thought. When grade 3 junior I started to become a vocalist as well as a guitarist. However, after I heard the recording of my band game, I realized that my voice was often not strong enough to achieve a high note and eventually the tone of his voice was distorted.

Often I was laughed at by the audience when performing on stage, even my band members started complaining with my voice. I realize I'm not singing well, but I'm sure I can fix it. Great sacrifice, great victory is the motto of my life which I also forget to get from where.

I keep practicing at home every school. I just use my ears to hear the singing of vocalist bands I like. I find out where their voices come from so they can achieve high notes. I learn the technique of singing, I keep practicing and practicing constantly. Finally my hard work began to feel sweet. Gradually, my voice grew stronger and managed to reach a fairly high tone. I mastered the abdominal breathing technique and made a sound. But, I know, I am still very far from perfect.

At the end of the second semester, I attended a vocal course to deepen my vocal technique. Apparently, the actual vocal technique is enough to make me a little overwhelmed to learn it at first. However, gradually I began to adjust and overtake me. Until now, I still continue to take vocal courses and will never give up in achieving what I dreamed of.

2. Writing

Writing the passion that I found when I was inspired by my favorite author, J.K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series. Aunt Rowling manages to transform herself from someone who eats her daily life is not always a person who has more income than the Queen of England just by fantasizing and translating her imagination into writing. His journey to become a famous writer is certainly far from easy. You can read the story of his struggle on wikipedia or in his biography (if any).

Okay, back to topic. After I read Harry Potter's first book, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, I was very excited to start writing my own story. I forgot how old I am, but I remember I was in grade 5 or 6. The basic kid, I wrote a story so incredible that my sister and my parents laughed for a while reading it. Fortunately I do not yet understand why they laugh at him. I still think they are laughing because my jokes are tucking my story. After writing a few pages, I can not continue my story because I'm running out of ideas. I started thinking my story was too imaginary and the dialogue was too childish. Since then, I stopped writing stories.

I did not write again for a while until one day I was inspired to a new story.

I started writing science fiction. Initially, the ideas for this story flow like water. But when I came to the part of the story that would get into the main conflict, I realized I had made a big mistake. Apparently I have not decided what conflict story I will make! My story is jammed in the middle. I decided to rest for a few days while thinking about the rest of the story. In fact, a few days later, I did not think of a continuation of my story and forgot about me with my desire to make a story.

When I was in third grade, I started reading novels, from teenage to heavy-duty books like the Laskar Pelangi series or The Kite Runner. Growing back my desire to make a story. This time, I want to make a more realistic story. I wrote about 16 pages, then I sent it to my friend for comment. Unexpectedly, it turns out my friend was crying reading my story. Wow, I'm really happy to hear my friend's impression. I am more excited to continue my story. But, back I found a dead end. I am ready with the story line from start to finish in my mind. But, I find it difficult to set the scene in each chapter. I want to make the reader not tired of reading this story and continue to feel curious about it. But how? The same thing happened again. I stopped writing stories. So, for 8 years, I have made 3 novels .......... but nothing is done.

One day I saw my brother's book, titled "5 Steps of Delivery Masterpiece", by Muhammad Musrofi, a training facilitator and director of the Creation Institute. Reading a chapter of the book was enough to motivate me to rewrite. I realize that I like to write, I feel calm when writing, I love to make a story in my head. I want to be able to create a novel or a decent book to be on the shelf that says "Top sellers". I do not want my dreams to run aground. Finally, for the umpteenth time, I rewrote it.

This time I do not want to repeat the same mistake. I feel I have not been able to write a long story. So, I'll start from writing short stories first. Right now, I'm working on a short story I plan to put in a short story race. It will be a great achievement for me if I win a race that is participated by participants from all over Indonesia.

I plan to make short stories that include poetry or writing about messages the author wants to convey to the reader indirectly. Poetry or writing will be written by my good friend, his name is nila.

Well, it's all about my favorite. My message to readers: Do not let your potential and talent leave your friends. In the field you love, make it a place where you can feel free to express yourself. Do not feel satisfied quickly. On the mountain, there is still the sky. Above the sky, there is still a higher sky. There is no limit to your talent. You love playing video games that will continue to compete scores with everyone in the world. Get out of your shell and make the world know you..
