35000 Youth including Rohingya detention
Detective Branch of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has arrested a Rohingya citizen of Myanmar, including 35,000 Yaba bigi, on Tuesday night from Jadimura area of Hannan Union of Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.
The arrested person is Rashid Ullah (50). He is the son of Bashir Ahmad of Dangkhali village in Maungdaw Township.
According to the detainee Rashid Ullah, he fled to Bangladesh with the help of Myanmar army torture almost two months ago. They have been living in the unregistered Rohingya camp in the opposite side of Nayapara Rohingya refugee camp in Teknaf. He was caught when he was taking a bribe to sell yaba pills.
Assistant Director of Detective Branch of Chittagong Divisional Department of Narcotics Control. Jilalur Rahman said in the first light, Rashid Ullah was detained as a caretaker of a mosque on the basis of secret information. At that time, 35,000 yaba pills were recovered from a polythene bag with him. He was handed over to Teknaf police station. He was sued under the Narcotics Control Act.
Teknaf Model Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mein Uddin Khan said Rashid will be sent to judicial magistrate court before noon on Wednesday.
