Since I started writing over 25 years ago, all I ever wanted to do was bring attention to all those musical artists, as well as other entertainers, that were making a difference in their own way. When I started the publication "The Rag," I was able to enlist others with the same goal. While I have had many successes in bringing artists to the public's attention, I still think about those projects that I wasn't able to complete fully.
I hope people can remember the wonderful artists that were featured in The Rag, FRED's Papers, Night & Day, The Shore Herald and the many other avenues I used to get the word out there. I wrote 50% as a journalist and 50% as a fan. If I had the money, I would have kept The Rag alive and been able to attack the other avenues I wanted to break into.
My better half is constantly reminding me of my many successes but I tend to be very hard on myself. I cared about every artist that I covered, whether I was into their particular style or genre. Sometimes I feel like I have more to say! I hope anyone who has read any of my work got some sort of enjoyment from it. Since I have downsized my living space, it is harder to find some of my own publications from the past. However, I am sure they are in the basement in a plastic tub somewhere.
Maybe, I will try and search them out and reignite the fire!
