Turkenlouis Oriental
Papaver Orientale
Huge, ruffled, high-impact blooms. Fringed and fiery red petals that surround deep purple centrifuge. Require full sun. Deer resistant. Active late spring to midsummer. A standout in bouquets.
My mom has been slowly covering her gardens with various types of Poppies. She recently informed me that those are her favorite flower. I always thought it was the Hyacinth. Starting to wonder what she's up to...
Anyway, these were planted in her garden a few years ago. They are quite the self-propagators, and have begun to pop up all over the property. She recently complimented the large red Turkenlouis with some subtle orange bloomed known appropriately monikered as Long Heads.
