Even what most see as a weed can be beautiful in its own way

Saturday Sepia

Not even sure what this plant is called but I quite like this shot I got of it and edited in sepia tones.

Don’t judge a book by its cover
This maybe apt to say in relation to this photo and post, often we grow to have perceptions on what is beautiful based on our upbringing and what is around us.
It’s very easy to let a first glance at something or someone and form an opinion quickly, I have to be honest I was like that to a degree when I grew up, but two things have helped me to change and now not jump based on first impressions.

One is my travelling over the years as some who have followed me for a while may know I have been lucky to travel a lot through my job over the years and have been to over 60 countries some on most people's wish list to visit and some places people would never think of visiting especially when I was there just after conflict or disaster of some sort, and this has really opened my eyes to see things in a totally different way and look for beauty everywhere

The Second thing that has changed how I literally view things is through Photography Initially in my mid teens and twenties, and now when I started again about 10 Years ago.
Photography leads you to look at things from all angles and in all light options looking for a good shot.

Now travelling is not something everyone can do, heck when I was growing up in a small town back in New Zealand I never imagined I would visit one country let alone 60+, but with the advancement in cellphone cameras looking at things with a photographer's eye is indeed possible,

So try and not let first impressions and conditioning control your thoughts all the time, try to pause and see things through your own eyes and see the beauty that is there in some form or other

Excellent photo!

Thanks so much Appreciated :)

Beautiful capture @tattoodjay and a great way to look at this wondrous world we inhabit.
The more we look the more beauty we find.
Even this what some consider a weed is truly beautiful. So delicate and yet perfect form and function for seed dispersal. The dandelion is a favorite of mine.
You have a great eye my friend.

And you have a great way with words, what a super comment and so truly appreciated

Well said, @tattoodjay! First impressions can be overrated.

Thank you kindly my friend

Yes and we all need to work to be stronger than them

I call these Dandelions but that might not be the correct term, a yellow flower which then goes to seed like this - my boys love picking them and blowing the seeds so they fly away. Another superb photo.

Yes thats what they are :)

and I used to do the same when I was young

There's something about the B&W and Sepia pictures that really attracts me to them. I'll try to see if I can get some that look really good :)

Yes I agree I look forward to seeing some of yours :)

Wise words and a beautiful photo!

Thanks Kindly my friend

Beautiful photography!

Thanks so much :)

I love this picture, so beautiful and as you said even weed can look beautiful.
This is a dandelion, in Sweden we make a wish and then blow.... 😆
Love it my friend. Cheers

Thanks for the visit,
I also remember as a Child Blowing the seeds into the air of them and making a wish :)

Seems it was done world wide

Always my pleasure to visit you 😆 Yes I think that was a thing that was done world wide.
I still do this sometimes to be honest 😁lol
Amazing shot of that weed.. Lol

Beautiful photography! I love to photograph dandelion too, every detail is amazing.

Yes they can be such a good subject :)

very well said. Cheers!

it's a beautiful photograph. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Great advice... especially to go with this photograph... 🎕

Thanks
It’s notboften I add my thoughts to a post normally just a photo but it came to me with this one

It's not the usual dandelion which only has a single stem ~ But it has similar parachute seeds ~ In the most beautifully glistening pearl white.

Beautifully photographed and the sepia tones add all the charm of old worldliness.

Wonderful article Jay, illustrating how traveling and developing the eye of a photographer has certainly made you look so much deeper into life, and in so doing enriched your life. 🦋🙏🦋

Thanks for your visit and taking the time to read and reply do truly appreciated
