Yesterday (February 17) I drove for about an hour looking for rural winter portraits. Sometimes I see nice photo opportunities when I drive, and it's a bit frustrating that I can't stop and take photos because the road doesn't permit. So I decided to try something new: I took some of the "backstreet" roads I found within a few miles from where I live, and captured photos from the side of the road. I liked the subtle beauty of winter in some of these - they look like crayoned portraits to me. All photos were taken with Canon 70D + 18-55 and 55-250mm lenses. Click on the photos to see large.
I can't stop looking at the second and third ones! Really beautiful shots!
Thanks so much! The second and last one (same, just vertical version) are my favorites!
woah, beautiful landscapes. Michigan winter looks amazing. great pictures
Thank you! To be honest, I was surprised, because most of the time I don't notice my surroundings. This is why I love photography, it helps me find and see more beauty!
Great post with some awesome images!
Thank you!

Thank you for your understanding. Please use more than 250 words next time.
Hey there, thanks for the message! I think there were several elements of confusion yesterday due to the fact that the @travelfeed account was freshly posted. I had already posted this gallery (and another one), both with less than 250 words, when I came across the travelfeed intro post.
I changed one of them to match the requirements, but right after that I read the intro post again and noticed that the daily sharing won't start until the following week. On the other hand, the intro post also indicates that daily topics will be highlighted from the previous seven days, and it wasn't clear to me whether that includes this week or not.
At this point I wasn't sure if I should (1) add 250 words for this post to be considered, or (2) remove the tag. Yesterday was too busy for me to check though, but I appreciate your message and would appreciate clarification on this.
Thank you!
Yes, the curation would start in one week but we're starting to upvote and resteem today. We're still in the process to figure out the game plan for ourselves but in general please only use the tag meeting the requirements.
Okay, thank you for the clarification! I can imagine some things will need to be ironed out, but @travelfeed has done a great job at putting together the intro posts. I guess a little bit of patience on both sides and clarifying things here and there will help as we all figure this out. :)
Thank you for your understanding and on top of it ... some of us are on the road right now. But we'll figure it out. Thank you so much for your understanding.
Thanks for the communication! Putting something like this together while traveling sure sounds a bit challenging, my appreciation is all the greater.
