Seventy years back, a youthful, bashful young lady stopped for three hours with a light in her grasp. She was posturing for a show-stopper being made by her dad S L Haldankar. This watercolor magnum opus, famously known as Woman with the Light or Sparkle of Expectation has been a star fascination in the Sri Jayachamarajendra Workmanship Display in Jaganmohan Royal residence in Mysore for almost 60 years now. The affectability, straightforwardness, delicate and unpretentious hues utilized and the ethereal delineation of the light reflecting from the fingers, has made this artwork an exceptionally respected work which is prestigious around the world.
