Similarity of Mythology in Different Cultures

Hey dear Hiveans, at the beginning of my contribution I would like to wish you a great start to the new week and hope you could enjoy the weekend to the fullest! Today I would like to go into mythology and am happy if you could expand the knowledge.

Anyone who has already dealt with different cultures and their mythology will know that there are so many parallels and everywhere gods or other beings with supernatural abilities can be found around which hundreds of legends revolve. Culture is important for people and the fact that there are so many connections makes even better communication between different peoples possible and even if people do not speak the same language, culture has an important meaning when it comes to a form of non-verbal communication. If there are conflicts between different groups, the cultural aspects have an important influencing factor in the way to solve them and it can be said that this has an additional factor of influence on diplomacy and welds together more people in a way. How deep roots the mythology plays can be seen in pretty much all areas of daily life and of course a large market has emerged around the mythology of cultures and worldwide there are thousands of advertisers who make use of it to market products and many companies use the names of different gods or associate legends with their products. Often people have problems in recognising these similarities, which can have different reasons and the most important are the educational aspects and already from an early age people grow up with their own culture which is repeated over a longer period of time so that the own horizon is increasingly restricted.

Cultural indoctrination can also be described as a form of deep indoctrination and over the years it comes to the emergence of monotonous patterns that are planted deep in the heads from which it is also very difficult to detach and this in turn leads to the fact that there is often no room for many other cultures. A fundamental basis of all the parallels can be found in the myths of creation where usually an original chaos is assumed which once describes a void from which the world is said to have arisen over time and the chaos can also be described as the way from the darkness into the light. There is, so to speak, a common source from which different cultures have tapped their water and many similarities of mythology can also be traced back to the contact between different peoples, but this is not always the case and even without the common contact numerous similarities have arisen, but many parallels lead back to this source even without contact. Even if the gods have other names, they are similar in their tasks, however, one can speak of small changes and a good example here are sun gods who usually symbolise the male aspects while the moon is associated with femininity and here it's often exactly different in different cultures, but the task remains the same and it's about giving people a light. Also in the legends this behaves similarly and there are so many parallels between the cultures and it can only be worthwhile to deal with different cultures to find them and thus the general understanding of customs as well as traditions is also improved.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new about this exciting topic! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens.

Sort:

They all have similarity, like the sun is often divine, then you have the darkness associated with death, rituals to make all gods happy too

Hi, I removed the blacklist on your comments but I would be grateful if you could engage with all Hive community not just a list of 30 lucrative curators who guarantee votes on the comments.

Hello, thank you! Ok.

As for posts, I will set payouts on decline for not original stuff if that's fine with you (I have gotten recently to know burn payouts can be abused somehow not sure how), otherwise let me know if you prefer other solutions.
Thanks

That sounds good.
Thanks

It’s good to know that you’re also interested in mythology!

That's thanks to Hercules and Xena on TV back 30 years ago 😅

Thanks for your comment :)

Myths are very popular, many people believe them and many don't. I don't either because they are strange and inconsistent. Your photos are very expensive, very historical.

I respect your opinion on this topic very much :)

Nice collection of pics of different cultures

Glad you like my post :)

I have really discovered that culture goes a long way to sustain the heritage of a place and should be hold in high esteem

Happy to see that you are thinking about this important topic :)

Sometimes, I feel every culture have something they always fall back at and that’s why we mostly have some similarities between different cultures that we never thought would be alike

Well said!
