You know, once when I started attending church (it was Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church) I noticed that the priest ended each mass with the words that we pray for .... and listed the patriarchs, the Pope, then our government. And he also always said - we pray for our army. It was a bit confusing for me, you know, the church, faith, love, forgiveness. And suddenly the army. At that time, I think of the army as people who either do nothing (in their own country) or go to fight in various hot spots as mercenaries. If someone had told me then that after many years I would be thanking our military every night and praying for them, I would not have believed it. The priest was a wise man...
