NaNoWriMo Day 4 and 5 update + Looking forward to a face to face writing session with fellow writers

Day 4 and 5 went pretty well, so far. In fact, I wrote so much yesterday that I didn't feel like blogging ( and writing even more ). Today was a little less productive, so far, but I'm satisfied anyway. If I need to believe NaNoWriMo's AI ( based on my average daily word count ) I will reach 50,000 words on November 24th. This would give me 6 days to rewrite and add some finishing touches to the story.

Now let's be honest. I'm not a robot. I don't believe in AI ( or anyone ) predicting the future. Nevertheless, it feels pretty good to have someone or something that gives you the idea that you're on the right path.

Whatever happens, I will be extremely proud if I reach the 50,000 words this month, whether this means a finished novel or not. Even if it's not precisely that, it's gonna be a huge step towards the finish line.

Yesterday afternoon,

I felt slightly isolated ( not that strange if you're living alone in a mountain village in a foreign country and it's Autumn ) and decided to try and find out if there were more people in Portugal taking part in NaNoWriMo. At first it seemed like I was the only one ( haha ) but then I discovered there were at least a ( couple of ) dozen others doing so ( most of them in big cities, Porto and Lisbon ). I found they have a discord - and being used to this chat platform thanks to Steemit - I decided to join the NaNoWriMo Portugal discord channel.

It's nice to have at least found some fellow November novel writers in the same country I'm in, whether I will ever meet some of them or not. Who knows? It might actually happen, as the same happened with Steemit :>)

Without further ado, here's the part that you're waiting for ( daily ), like a lion in a Zoo, ready for it's daily meat. Or - if your're vegetarian or vegan, an elephant waiting for its peanuts / a gorilla waiting for its daily bunch of bananas ( you get the point ):

P.S.

And then, while working on today's blog post, I discovered the following: There's actually a NaNoWriMo meetup in Coimbra, the town closest to my village. The next session will be this Saturday ( in 4 days ) and I won't be able to attend it, as I will be hanging out with my sister and her family. I am gonna try to find a way to go to the following one though, November 16th.

Upon further examination, there seems to be no meetup in Coimbra that day but there will be one in Porto. Hmm... that might be fun too, albeit a little farther away.

Oops! Trying to get more information, I accidentally clicked on 'Count Me In'. Hypersensitivosaurus is now on the attendance list.

Although I could easily undo this mistake(?), I will instead take it as a sign that I should go there. Who knows, it might be fun. And there's one thing I have no doubt about, I won't be the only introvert there. Writers are introvers, right? Also, I like to exaggerate, I'm almost as good with the spoken word as I am with its written sister. This is really nothing to feel uncomfortable about. I guess this was just Hypersensitivosaurus speaking.

Shut up you shy lizard! What will people think of me?
...

Hey, don't be offended now. I was only kidding.

...

You know I love you, right? I would never say anything to hurt you. And if I did, I wouldn't mean it.
Now come on over here and give me a big hug. You will always be my favorite raptor.

Also, you know you're based on me, right? So whatever I say to you is a joke played on myself.

Sort:

"Accidental" click eh a likely story XD

Hypersensitovosaurus is a velociraptor? People are likely going to start asking if he's related to Philosoraptor XD

Philosoraptor!

Hahaha! One of my favorite comments ever :>)

In fact, I like it so much that I would love to write it into my story, some way. Would you mind me doing so? I will add that a friend came up with this idea :>)

Image search philosoraptor, it’s a meme 🙃 so you could probably write it in your story and it would be amusing 🤣

Ah, right! I think I've seen it before. Not a fan of memes in general but this one is pretty funny :>)

Thanks dude , seeing the progress you have made on this has got me wanting to use my time more actively. I’d say “productively” but the time I spent doing nothing was productive too

Time spent doing 'nothing' can often be the wisest thing to do :>)

I am having a slow start myself this year. :)

Slow stars can sometimes lead to great finishes. Think of the turtle and the hare ;>)
I wish you the best of luck and a lot of fun.
