It was formally presumed that human comfortably could live on Mar with the help of reliable energy source like solar power and rocket fuel. NASA discovered that solar power was going to give astronauts tough time meeting the need for power on the planet, because the panel would be situated on the Martian surface, where would revolve day and night, dust storm might affect, including other factors, meaning that sunlight won't always be around to provide the base-level of energy needed to get things done.
With NASA plans to colonize Mars in 2030, they decided to take the need for power to a new level; NUCLEAR ENERGY (POWER). Recently NASA unveiled a nuclear power called KILOPOWER which will provide electric energy for settlements and exploration on the surface of Mars.
Kilopower is basically a small nuclear reactor that produces simply enough electrical energy to complete fundamental work. The Kilopower will produce power/energy ranging from one to ten kilowatts which can run for more than ten years. A prototype of the Kilopower is made from uranium; have a cast uranium 235 core reactor size of paper towel roll. The reactor heat travels through a sodium heat pipes, the heat is converted to electricity through a stirling energy. Stirling energy creates pressure that force the pistol to move alternator that produce electricity.
