Medicinal Herbal Teas: the Easiest Way to Practice Herbal Medicine

One of my roles at the Apothecary is for me to make the medicinal herbal teas.

We mix them in a wooden bowl and we wipe it out in between. I love it because the oils from the herbs settle in the wood and it's similar to the nuns who make the cheese in wood barrels. There is magic when you mix tea in wood bowls with wood spoons. The frequency of wood is different than metal so it makes sense to me.

The first tea is the Jitterbug tea, a great nervine tea with lemon balm, chamomile, oatstraw, skullcap, and red rose petals. This gorgeous tea helps settle the nerves and gets your nervous system to calm down.

This is our Star Power, Holy Basil and Lavender, one of my favorites. If you haven't tried Holy Basil I highly recommend it. It is amazing for depression, anxiety, adrenals, nourishing the body and uplifting the soul. I take the holy basil tincture daily and notice a huge difference in my mood when I don't.

The Super Immunity Tea packs a punch with elderberry, shizandra berries, rosehips, and hibiscus. A naturally sweet tea, this is great for keeping the immune system strong and helps fight off viruses and many other ailments.

This is our balance thy self tea, great for balancing hormones and cleaning the liver.

The reason I love teas as herbal medicine is anyone can make them. Just research some herbs you are interested in and you can make your own blend. Let steep for about 20 minutes and you will get the full medicinal benefits. You can also brew each cup twice, which is amazing and many times much cheaper than trying to buy supplements. Very cost effective, powerful herbal medicine that you can make by yourself! Enjoy 💜
