Nature not only lowers our stress levels, but also allows our brain to rest and recover from the hustle and bustle we live in daily and the endless stimuli it receives in cities. I recently read about a work by Dr. Kaplan from the University of Michigan, and they observed that walking through the forest for 50 minutes improved executive skills and attention ability. He believes that they are the visual elements of nature (the sunsets, the flowers, the butterflies, the streams ...), which allow us to relax from the "nervous irritation" that the city provokes.
