I took my dog out the other night and she tried to jump on this large spider as soon as she got out the door.
)
My wife is terrified of it but I don't believe it is poisonous. The only two spiders that are poisonous where we live in northeast Alabama are the brown recluse and the black widow. It doesn't look like either of those but I am not sure what it is. It did look kind of intimidating though. 
)
I chased it off the porch because I figured whatever it was my dog shouldn't eat it. Thanks for reading and I will have another posts about wild edibles very soon!
