Good Morning Steem! I've been meaning to make a post about my recent trip to Sequoia National Park, but things are busy this time of year! Last week, @joleenwillis had to do a back to back engagement photo shoots in Sequoia, and asked if I would like to come along. It was a hard choice--camping versus work...I chose camping! Sequoia is only 3.5 hours from our hometown, but I had never made it out that way before. We jumped in the van late Monday afternoon and entered the park under cover of darkness.
We camped just outside the park, saving 25 bucks a night, while also allowing the dogs to roam free and providing us with plenty of privacy. The next morning we drove 20 minutes or so into the park, and got our first glimpse of the Giant Sequoias! They didn't disappoint! Having been to both Yosemite and Calaveras Big Trees, I would have to say that Sequoia has the most impressive collection of Giant Sequoias--including the biggest tree in the world by volume, the General Sherman tree, measuring in at 275 feet tall, and over 36 feet across!
In the afternoon a misty fog rolled into the park, making things even more magical!
Scouting for sunset photo locations overlooking Moro rock. Overall it was a great trip, we just didn't have a lot of time to see everything, didn't even begin to explore Kings Canyon National Park...oh well, next time!
Beautiful place!!! Hope to see it one day... Greetings from UK.
Thanks, you definitely should!
